The City of Surrey will host the 13th annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market at Surrey Civic Plaza on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy free live entertainment across four stages, take photos with Santa, shop an expanded Holiday Market, experience amusement rides and light displays. The tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, and the festival will extend into Sunday, November 26 with the illuminated tree remaining on display throughout the weekend and into January 2024.
“With the continuing growth of Surrey’s community, we are thrilled that we can offer a platform for youth and local performers to showcase their talent,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “We have some gifted performers in our community, and what better time to bring them together than the holidays. With the addition of one more day to the wonderful event, Surrey’s Expanded Tree Lighting Festival will be one of the most memorable holiday traditions to attend.”
Presented by Concord Pacific, this year's event will feature a variety of performers on the Snowflake Stage including Warren Dean Flandez, Come Fly with Me: Michael Bublé Tribute, Merry & Bright, Pat Chessell and Friends, Josh Bogert, Á'a:líya, and Phat Santa Swing. The North Pole Stage will showcase Fraser Valley Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”, holiday singalongs with Belle and Cinderella, and local choirs. The Candy Cane Dance Tent presented by ML Emporio will feature dance battles and DJs. Attendees can also visit the Grand Staircase in the City Centre library to experience local performers.
