The City of Surrey will host the 13th annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market at Surrey Civic Plaza on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The free festival will extend into Sunday, November 26 with the illuminated tree remaining on display throughout the weekend. Organizers have confirmed that on Sunday at 7:00 p.m., a green and grumpy guest will take the stage and try to turn off Surrey’s Christmas Tree. Attendees will need to come together in the spirit of the holidays to keep Surrey’s Christmas Tree shining bright. Additionally, The Snow Sisters will perform, followed by an LED dance performance and holiday dance party with DJ Marvel.
“Join us next Sunday at 7 p.m. for an appearance by a very special guest at this year’s Tree Lighting Festival, followed by performances by the Snow Sisters and LED dancers to get attendees into the holiday spirit,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “I invite you to come join us as we kick off the holiday season in Surrey with the lighting of the Christmas Tree. This is a festive event you won't want to miss.”
Presented by Concord Pacific, this year's extended festival will feature a variety of performances on Sunday, including Christmas cover band Merry & Bright, Fraser Valley Academy of Dance’s “The Nutcracker”, Glisha, The Snow Sisters, Phat Santa Swing!, Pat Chessell and Friends, Higher Ground Dance Battles, and Ranj Singh. There will also be choirs and LED performers providing pop-up entertainment throughout the event. Attendees can also shop local at the Holiday Market presented by Bosa Properties, ride the Ferris Wheel sponsored by ML Emporio Properties, and try holiday dishes from a variety of food trucks.
The City of Surrey invites residents and visitors to experience this free, expanded celebration and kick off the holiday season.
