Higher Ground Dance Company

Higher Ground’s program is unlike any other street dance company in the lower mainland. 
Focusing on personal growth to help you level up, build your own voice and identity, build knowledge of history with true understanding of the culture of street dances.

Training in fundamentals of various street dances but focusing on Hip Hop styles, Breaking, Popping & locking. As well as being introduce to other street dances,

Focus on history classes , injury prevention, battles, ciphers, choreography.

Higher Ground Travel's together at the end of their season to bond and to experience where these cultures come from.

Salish Secondary Dance Program offers curricular dance courses for students in grades 8-12.

Fergus Dalton is a dancer who performs and teaches traditional Metis Jigging all across the lower mainland. Starting from a young age, Fergus began learning from Lisa Sheppard as one of the Maple Sugar Jiggers. Since then, he has adapted to solo performing and teaching, and carries on the cultural tradition, interlacing stories and history into his performance.

Panorama Youth Company

Panorama Youth Company is a pre-professional youth dance company with aims to teach the qualities needed to be part of a professional company or organization. The dancers are held to high standards and the expectations of their participation and attitudes are of the highest quality.

The company is fast paced, full of fun and high in energy. We pride ourselves on sharing our enthusiasm and passion for dance in the community at various venues and events. Other performances in the past have included schools, the PNE, parades, Disneyland, and Cruise ships.

Each of our students, ranging in ages from 8-19, must have a minimum of 2 years previous experience and currently enrolled in both RAD ballet and jazz to be accepted into our Company program. The PYC attend extra rehearsals, weekday and weekend performances and some planned out-of-town engagements.

Tabletutors is a local DJ community that provides opportunities for up-and-coming DJs through community placement DJ positions to gain experience and give back to other local communities!

DJ Hollaholly has been with Tabletutors for the last 3 years and is one of Vancouver's fastest up-and-coming DJs playing in some of the biggest and most diverse clubs, communities & festivals.

Affiliated with Keri's Highland Dance Studio, The Wee Drams is non-profit society that aims to promote and celebrate Scottish culture through Highland dance. 

The group showcases Highland dance at the highest level, whose team members include former champions, with impressive performance resumes. The Wee Drams create event specific sets that are known to have the audience clapping, singing and dancing! 

North Surrey Dance is a public educational dance program based out of North Surrey Secondary School. As a community, we strive every day to be good-hearted humans, creative artists and dynamic dancers.

Under the direction of Ms. Menelaine Valencia, our program explores the cultures, and techniques of various dance forms such as Hip-Hop, Breaking, Contemporary and Bhangra. Through freestyle and creative movement, we use dance as a tool to express our unique selves while also exploring how it connects us all.

Together, we create dances that we hope inspires, teaches, entertains, and invites our audiences to move with us!

After moving to Vancouver for acting and a three year stint in Europe to play professional volleyball, Jani has spent the last 20+ years performing for audiences near and far. Her love and appreciation for multiple musical genres, that span decades, keeps all audience members intrigued. It’s like she has had a glimpse into all of our playlists. 

Harmoneve is a trio of sweet sounds and vocal powerhouses. Following in the footsteps of musical supergroups like The Supremes, En Vogue and Destiny's Child, this soulful Pop and R&B ensemble will captivate you with their pitch perfect harmonies and cutting edge style!

Although Matt has some serious technical skills, he won a world juggling championship!

It's the comedy he combines with his stunts that keeps him in demand. He performed his one-man show onstage daily at Disney World in Florida for many years, totaling more than 8000 shows. Don’t misa your chance to see Matt wow you with his wit and skill!

The Rambling Gentlemen

The Rambling Gentlemen are a Vancouver based vocal duo with guitar accompaniment, who play traditional jazz standards in the style of the 1930s and 40s. Their arrangement of standards are inspired by groups and individual artists such as the Mills Brothers, Guy Lombardo & His Royal Canadians, Al Bowlly, and so on.

The band is led by Emmett Martin Hatlelid, a young and up-coming jazz vocalist with a love for the traditional jazz styles. On vocals and trombone is Brad Shigeta, a former member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra who’s traveled the world performing this music since his early twenties. On guitar accompaniment is Noah Gotfrit, a young musician who has toured extensively across Europe, Western Canada and the United States with a wide variety of musical acts.

The Surrey City Orchestra is a nonprofit organization, whose mandate is to bring high quality music performances that will enhance our community, and reflect the diverse city in which will live, work and play.  The orchestra has performed at many community events, such as the Fusion Festival, and Party for the Planet, and has produced its own events such as the Nutcracker Ballet, and The Music of Anime, and many others since its inception in 2018.

 Most of our members teach music privately, or in the public system, and play many styles of music such as mariachi, jazz, rock and of course classical, all over BC.

Shelley has played the piano since she was seven years old and is a local fun-loving passionate piano instructor to many young budding musicians. Shelley has performed solo, with bands, orchestras, musical theatre and solo artists. Music is her profession, teaching is her passion, playing is living the dream.

Harmeet Kaur Virdee Duo

Harmeet Kaur Virdee (she/they) is a jazz double bassist, composer and music educator based in Surrey BC. She is the founder of Surrey Jazz Nights and a music teacher at the VSO School of Music, and Queen’s Academy of the Arts. Harmeet is a graduate of the VSO Performance Prep Program where she studied with established jazz musicians such as Jodi Proznick, Miles Black, and Noah Franche-Nolan.

Joining Harmeet is vocalist Ren Zhang (they/them). Their set will include jazz standards and jazzy holiday music.

Dreamy harmonies, warm tones, and an effortless blend: The UppaTones craft a sound that evokes a hint of nostalgia while giving a fresh, modern take on vocal performance. A contemporary folk trio, they perform (mostly) a cappella, often accompanied by a rhythm of stomps and snaps.

The UppaTones create original songs over countless cups of jasmine tea, finding delicious harmonies as they draw inspiration from lived experiences and the magic of nature. They complement their work with a thoughtful and satisfying selection of covers.

Singing around a vintage-style mic, The UppaTones give an intimate performance that showcases the depth of their vocals, the weave of melody and harmony, and the joy of music-making.
